Inhalt

Oscar-Gewinnerin Viola Davis in einem von wahren Ereignissen inspirierten Drama: Das afrikanische Königreich Dahomey ist in Gefahr. Generalin Nanisca, die Anführerin der weiblichen Eliteeinheit Agojie, informiert König Ghezo darüber, dass Frauen aus dem benachbarten Königreich entführt und als Sklavinnen verkauft werden sollen. Gemeinsam wollen sie die Versklavung der Gefangenen verhindern. Nanisca rekrutiert daraufhin weitere Soldatinnen, um die Gefangenen zu befreien.
